That 70s Show!

That 70s Show!

If your style is totally laid-back and casual, use boho-chic music festivals, like Coachella, to inspire your wedding. Think: a backyard or open-field setting, complete with kitschy details like striped tepees, cocktail hour lounges and picnic-style dining. Keep the colors bright and festive, yet earthy (try sunny yellow and teal paired with terra-cotta). Must-have elements include hand-drawn maps with your invitations and fun, not fussy, wording on your invites (instead of "accept" write "you in?") to really drive home your theme. For the fashion, a gauzy and modern take on the bell-sleeve wedding dress evokes a '70s, Woodstock vibe. Intentionally mismatched bridesmaid dresses will keep the look effortless and easy.

June has been a tirelessly busy but exciting month for us!

Not only are we seeing an increase in our Fabulous clients but we took part in 3 photo shoots 2 of which we hosted ourselves!

It was an ambitious venture but we have conquered all three with massive success! We know there will be many good and exciting things coming our way from the hard work done in the quiet place.

Last week I went down south, back to my home city: London and with several friends in the industry we took on the Big city and did our shoot there.

I attended London Fashion week earlier this year back in February, along with Fashion styling Blogger: Lisa Leung and noted the key trends of 2015 catwalk are:

1. 70s Ultra Glam

2. 70s Bohemian

Colour of the year Being Panetone Marsala.

These are key for this year and Autumn/Winter 2016

Busily we wanted Photographs of our own and thought:

Lets do a shoot , in which we collabourate with the best wedding creatives in the industry, hoping to bring what was hot off the runway into the wedding world.

We wanted images to be will be creative, clever dramatic yet simple using the interiors/exteriors of the chosen venue in the City of London.

We wanted our Photographs will take advantage of both the style of Fashion in the wedding world, and the interiors and Opulent structure, dramatic architectural details of the venue.

The process was Tough but worth it. We secured the best and the shoot was an absolute success.

Whimsical wedding with a Rockabilly Riot!!

Whimsical wedding with a Rockabilly Riot!!

The idea behind my shoot was to have strong 1950s theme with a soft whimsical tea party with an ecclectic Rockabilly mix.

Showcasing the style of poise and precision from the era.

With a hint of the fun loving Rockabilly side too at the end of the decade mixing that retro with modern to make it accessible for the out-doorsy quirky off-beat Bride.

Bridesmaids in Ivory Tulle skirts conveying the fairytale-esque look that is Traditional in weddings and the Bride in a floral print tea dress; The Bride is no longer in white.

I decided to Host a shoot themed around the 1950s Era focusing on the latter part of the period just before the 1960s,.

Where Great Britain for the first time had disposable income and Hollywood glamour took centre stage in weddings world meaning they were full of beauty accessories and prettiness.

Icons of the Time were Elizabeth Taylor, Maryln Monroe, Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly.

(the fact that we had 4 models was perfect as each can represent metaphorically one of these icons in their style.

The 1950s by itself has been done before it wasn't anything new to wedding-ville , However I wanted to change it slightly to balance the repetitive approach of this well photographed era.

We incorporated a soft woodsy magical tea party theme to it. This enabled a sense of fun, adding a Bridal softness, and also gives us an opportunity to create a "ideal" in the imagery for the shoot, then brilliantly opposed it with our tattooed Bride.

This is a metaphoric representation of the next generation that followed the 50s- the 1960s

We rebelled as they did in that era; After all why keep with the cliché' of tradition?

We decided on the Bridesmaids being in white/ ivory with the Bride in a floral print tea dress.

Throughout the experience we kept in mind two points:

1. 1950s chic poise and modelling

2.Rockabilly fun!!!

Needless to say the collaboration was a success and we go in to print in July!!
