ITS MY AIM TO SHARE WITH OUR BRIDES THE VERY BEST OF WEDDING SUPPLIERS LOCAL TO YORKSHIRE and julia is just that.

YOUR FACE, IS THE FIRST THING YOUR GUESTS LOOK AT ON YOUR WEDDING DAY. so IT IS IMPORTANT TO LOOK YOUR BEST AND WITH EXPERT ADVICE AND TOP TIPS JULIA IS HERE TO SHARE HER KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE

SO LETS GET  STARTED....

What is your name of you/company where are you based?

I am Julia Jeckell, a freelance Make-up Artist based in South Yorkshire.

What inspired you to go into business when did it launch ?

I have always been creative with a passion for fashion magazines! I studied Media Make-up and Hair at The School of Make-up, Manchester in 2004 and set up in 2005 as a Freelance Make-up and Hair Artist.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

It has to be the variety! One day you are creating a Wedding day look for a Bride, the next you are working on a commercial photo shoot. I also love working with a creative team.

Can you give an overview of the services your business offers?

I am fully trained in both Hair and Make-up with hands on experience in fashion styling. I am busy throughout the year with bridal bookings but also offer my services for photo shoots, whether it be Fashion, Editorial or Commercial. I am also available for TV work and have worked on various productions in the past, including The BBC Sunday Life show.

Where do you get your daily dose of inspiration?

I love Pinterest and creating Mood-boards! I also love travelling and getting inspired by exotic locations and vintage era’s.

What project was the most challenging or creative one that you have worked?

I few years back i got involved in an avante garde fashion project. I always find Avante garde themes are the most challenging as you have to think outside the box!

What do you love MOST about the wedding industry?

It’s really special to be involved in someone’s big day and play such an important part of their ‘getting ready’ preparations, being there for them.

I also love collaborating with other creatives in the Wedding Industry - photographers, models, set stylists and Bridal wear designer’s etc. It’s especially rewarding seeing the images as the end result.

Where do you see the business in the next few years?

As well as working with Brides and on photo-shoots, I am passionate about working alongside other women to help empower and teach them about doing their own make-up. There are so many different Make-up Tutorials and Make-up brands out there, it’s a minefield!

I want to show them how they can create a look with a few simple steps and key products without spending hours in front of the mirror! I  will be focusing on doing this through offering more One to One Make-up lessons and Masterclasses.

What are you looking forward to or are excited about for 2017?

I have plans to move into a bigger home work space and I’m looking forward to refurbishing it. Also offering more personalised services such as Make-up Masterclasses and Lessons.

Lastly what advice would you give to couples getting hitched?

On the Big Day, do take time together to step back and observe it all  as it all goes so quickly!
