Today we are back live on the website
Hooray!
Kindly Please bear with us as we’ve had a lot of time off
we need a hot minute to get back into the swing of things
COVID-19 came with a bang at the start of 2020 To knock the world off it’s unexpecting feet
December 31, 2019
let’s go back for a moment
We were excited to get into a brand-new year and a brand-new decade that in our innocence;
or ignorance
We hadn’t even realised in our busyness of planning and preparation that we do not control what goes on in the world but we can only control how we deal with it. We had no idea of the storm approaching and how to deal with it both personally and as a nation.
Coincidentally I took time off in January from the business to relocate and move house celebrate Borge the kids birthdays it was a very busy time for our family
We we’re changing everything we had known and been secure in five year’s and moving with a toddler
(which adds a challenge to the task)
Then literally the following month in February the nation went into lockdown throwing everybody into a spin that this deadly virus had landed in the UK
Our upstanding British society was were thrown into the pit of bedlam
There was panic and pandemonium on a global scale
People were stealing groceries from the supermarkets
All forms of Handsanitiser and dettol wipes disappeared
We were all buying too much toilet paper and washing our hands until they were dry and crusty.
We saw the very worst of humankind in society was suicide rates increasing civil unrest and protest for the black lives matter movement.
Many of my Suppliers and stockists had closed so I decided to close Bespoke vintage Castle for the rest of the year too and because my children were at home
( for the many months that followed)
It was impossible to work around them creating bespoke pieces for brides and doing homeschooling for a nine-year-old and a toddler.
My husband also purchased a building in June;
we had been waiting a while and 2020 was the year it decided to all go through; so we had to begin renovating it which we loved doing over the summer as it gave us a creative outlet during a time of strife for most of the nation.
It was really good for me and my husband to have this time with our children over that year because we have been so caught up in the busyness of our own independent lives that it was precious to bond as a family once more Every fibre of my being enjoyed this time from spring through to winter of the year 2020 because I don’t regret taking that extended break. I was able to decorate a new home, loose 4 over stones in weight, which improved my health bake cookies with the children and by the end of it all have the best Christmas ever with the family.
I had worked so hard on BVC Having grown my beautiful business baby from the ground up for the past seven years!
I had been doing photo shoots in Paris and New York fashion week attending London Fashion week
sending beautiful items to brides all over the world from Australasia to Africa and featured on the cover of so many magazines.
I had worked intensely for nearly a decade on Bespoke Vintage Castle; Because I took the break 2020 was a time to recalibrate think of fresh ideas and decide what my priorities were.
I thoroughly enjoyed the extended rest but now Jonathan is going back to school and Victoria starts preschool this year so I am back and raring to go back to doing what I love!
Covid is clearly not going anywhere!
Even though we cannot deal with the drama and aggravation it has caused on a global wide scale
We have to live and adapt with this as part of modern day culture for the time being
Fortunately we have more information on it now than we did before and can manoeuvre our daily lives to the best of our abilities around this virus.
I have decided that after nearly a year to the delight of our fans and followers and potential future bride I will reopen my business!
I need to devote the next month into boosting up my stock and responding to customer emails and tidying all the cobwebs out of my online platforms
For current shoppers my store will remain open for the products that I can guarantee will be delivered for our beautiful 2021 Castle Jewell’s (you lovely customers) and keep checking in every Friday from March to see delicious new stock!
Thank you for your patience with us and for sending us, messages of support and encouragement love and blessings
Betty xoxo
Sending you love and wishing you a happy New Year
